Following the first flash of his lens in the early 1970’s whilst sneaking in a camera to see Paul McCartney perform at the prestigious Hammersmith Odeon, London born and bred O’Regan taught himself photography to get closer to his musical heroes. Particularly enthralled by the inimitably charismatic character of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust, little did the youthful Denis O’Regan know that he would go on to become the man on earth to most photograph Bowie - one of the most important pop icons of all time. Their collaboration undeniably creating some of the most enduring images of the musicians career.

Since then, O’Regan’s collaboration list is surely unparalleled. Having photographed everyone from AC/DC to ZZ Top, notable accomplishments include: working as official photographer at Live Aid and the Concert For Diana, travelling as official photographer to David Bowie, Duran Duran, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Queen, Neil Diamond, Bee Gees, Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy and being appointed as the first ever Artist in Residence for the Royal Albert Hall, whilst finding time to publish and sell out books and limited editions, and becoming a skilled raconteur, speaking of his adventures behind the camera across dozens of countries over the decades. A testament to the strength of popularity of his work and the visuals provided to the soundtrack of many people’s lives. 

The Beosound A9 is a triumph of practical design. The Bang & Olufsen X Denis O’Regan collaboration, powered by former gallery and now one of the world’s leading art consultancies in West Contemporary, will be based upon a previously unpublished image of O’Regan’s most closely associated musical partner, David Bowie.

Art collectors and audio aficionados alike will be able to purchase a highly exclusive, limited edition A9 speaker adorned with the rare and first-time-released image of Bowie in the form of a UK-manufactured, high-end speaker cover, with just 30 made and available globally.

Each purchase (RRP £3995) will include an A9 speaker with a coveted limited edition David Bowie speaker cover, a 12” x 8” accompanying limited edition print that is signed and numbered by Denis O’Regan, a printed box ‘sleeve’ and finally a Certificate of Authenticity as provenance for the collaboration. 

Regularly, a Denis O’Regan print of similar description would have an RRP of £1400 alone.
